Lagoon Nebula

The Lagoon Nebula, an emissions nebula, is one of only two star-forming interstellar clouds visible to the naked eye, the other being the Great Orion Nebula. This celestial masterpiece stretches 110 light-years across horizontally and 50 light-years vertically. It resides in the Sagittarius constellation and is situated between 4,000 to 6,000 light-years from Earth. Presented in SHO (False Color Image).
